We’ve made two board appointments, and they both happen to be called Paul.
Paul Lucas joins Fanclub as a director. He will lead the strategic and creative direction of Fanclub’s client work, while also supporting me (Adrian) in developing Fanclub’s proposition and client service offer.
Prior to joining Fanclub, Paul was a director at Edelman, where he helped run Shell’s Make The Future global programme - showcasing ongoing actions that Shell is taking to make a more sustainable and lower carbon future.
Before that, Lucas held director roles at Fever and TVC and co-founded Brando (now Citizen Relations).
Personally, I’ve always been an admirer of Paul Lucas’ work from afar. When we met, he talked about the campaigns that he was involved in, and I was blown away by how many I recognised as ones that I’d thought, “Damn! I wish we’d thought of that”. It was clear that we both share a passion for truly integrated and culturally relevant work that drives deep connections with customers.
Paul Allen joins us as a board advisor. Although in truth that title doesn’t even begin to describe what he does at Fanclub. I met Paul about a year ago in his last role at SI Partners. We started to work with him on a few commercial projects. However, it soon became apparent that he was way more valuable as someone who could turn our vision into a roadmap for growth and help us deliver against this. Having him on the board will help us accelerate our growth.
Paul Allen now runs the Red Dot Consulting, supporting agencies with strategic growth. Check them out if you run an agency. I can’t recommend Paul highly enough.
The Pauls join me, Davnet and Amy on the board. If you’re not familiar with Davnet, she held managing director positions at M&C Saatchi PR and Unity PR, before going in-house at Britvic. Davnet has served as our Non Executive Director for more than a year now, and has been instrumental in supporting me and Amy, reshaping the team and business, and driving growth.
